Huron Bay Cabins began with a simple conviction: the best memories aren't made in crowded places. Located along Park Road in Skanee, Michigan — a stretch of Upper Peninsula wilderness where cell service is sparse and the stars are unmistakable — our cabins were designed to strip away the noise and leave only what matters.

Each cabin is constructed from locally sourced materials, with attention to details that only someone who lives here would think of: south-facing windows for winter light, deep overhangs for summer shade, and stone fireplaces that draw smoke clean on the coldest nights. This isn't a resort. It's a place people come to remember how to slow down.

What you'll do here

Some guests spend their days kayaking to secluded coves. Others do nothing but sit on the porch and watch the loons. Both are exactly the right way to spend a week at Huron Bay.

Lake Superior Adventures

Kayaks and canoes are available for guests. Paddle to hidden beaches, spot bald eagles from the water, or simply drift and listen to the waves lap against the rocks.

Trails & Forest Walks

Miles of unmaintained forest trails start right from the cabin door. In autumn, the maples turn the entire valley gold. In winter, the snow makes every path a fresh blank page.

Northern Lights & Stargazing

With zero light pollution, the night sky here is extraordinary. From late fall through early spring, the aurora borealis dances overhead — and some guests say it's worth coming back for that alone.
